The text for this project was taken from my grandfather's memoir, no time to mourn,
which documents his story of survival during the Holocaust.I decided to juxtapose this raw and painful
writing with photographer Harley Weir's serene landscape imagery. I wanted these images to tell a different
story alongside my grandfather's memoir, creating tension. These images are not supposed to
make you feel calm while you read about my grandfather witnessing the murder of his father
and sister in an ambushed attack. These images instead become disturbing.
